Creating a TV service solution for hotels using existing coaxial cable infrastructure in the Caribbean
Caritech Solutions Inc.

Caritech provides TV services to hotels in the Caribbean. The existing coaxial cable network in each room made the transition to an IP-based solution prohibitively expensive. They were looking for a solution that would allow them to use an IP signal to deliver TV with the outdated infrastructure of the hotels.
Caritech planned to facilitate the distribution of TV signals over the coaxial cable network to each room in the hotel. They devised an approach that involved using an ATSC modulator, which enabled the delivery of digital TV over the existing coaxial cable infrastructure.
However, before the TV streams could be delivered, they needed to undergo preparation, ingestion, transformation into MPTS (Multi-Program Transport Stream), and delivery over UDP (User Datagram Protocol), followed by modulation.
We recommended Flussonic Media Server for TV stream ingestion and processing. Its 4-in-1 functionality (multiplexer, satellite/terrestrial/IP receiver) simplified operations, cut costs, and saved space. Flussonic also supports MPTS streams, signal transmission to modulators/DVB/ISDB/ATSC networks, and failover—making it the optimal choice for Caritech's efficient, high-quality delivery.
Caritech developed two Flussonic-based solutions for hotel cable TV systems:
On-Site Headend Model
Centralized Data Center + QAM Modulator Model
Both solutions leverage Flussonic's capabilities to ensure reliable, high-quality TV delivery.
By utilizing Flussonic Media Server and ATSC modulator Caritech effectively addressed the challenge posed by the outdated infrastructure.
